In Loving Memory of Theresa "Terri" Bartholomew
July 14, 1938 – July 4, 2026
With profound sadness and immense gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we announce the passing of Theresa "Terri" Bartholomew, who peacefully entered eternal rest on July 4, 2026, at the age of 87, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born in Grand Roy, Grenada, Theresa embodied the strength, resilience, and warmth of her Caribbean roots throughout her life. She immigrated to Brooklyn, New York, with one unwavering purpose—to create a better future for her children. Through determination, sacrifice, and an unmatched work ethic, she built a life filled with love, laughter, and opportunity for her family.
Theresa enjoyed a long and accomplished career as an Executive Book Editor with W.W. Norton, where her intelligence, professionalism, wit and dedication earned the respect of colleagues and friends alike. She was a devoted Roman Catholic and a faithful member of Saint Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church.
To those who knew her, Theresa was many things. She was affectionately known as Terri, Mom, Granmom, and GG—but above all, she was home. Her house was more than a place to live; it was a refuge. She made sure that anyone who needed a safe place, a warm meal, wise advice, or simply someone to believe in them knew they had a place with her.
Her quick wit and infectious sense of humor kept everyone laughing. Whether she was teasing family, making inappropriate jokes, or telling stories after a glass of Moscato, there was never a dull moment in her presence.
Her legacy lives on not only in what she accomplished but in the countless lives she touched with her unmatched generosity, kindness, humor, strength, and unwavering love.
Theresa was preceded in death by her beloved parents, David Jones and Veronica Celestine Bartholomew.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her sister Corine Bartholomew and her children, Debra, Lincoln Bartholomew, Randy Bartholomew, and Phillip Bartholomew; her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and countless dear friends whose lives are richer because they knew and loved her.
While our hearts ache in her absence, we find comfort knowing she is no longer in pain. We choose to remember her exactly as she lived: full of laughter, full of love, impeccably dressed, dancing until the very end of the night, and leaving every room brighter than she found it.
Heaven has gained an extraordinary angel, and her legacy of love, generosity, resilience, faith, and joy will continue through all who were blessed enough to call her family or friend.
Forever loved. Forever remembered. Forever our Terri aka Mom.
