Obituary

Scott Shane Stiles passed away at age 41, on Jan 26, 2024. He was born in Blairsville, GA. and moved to the Seminole area in 2016 after living in the Chattanooga, TN and Franklin, N.C., where he belonged to Franklin SDA Church.

He loved being a dad and enjoyed many hobbies over the years. He was an equestrian in the 4H club when he was younger. As a young adult, he competed in gymnastics, ranked in jujitsu, enjoyed outdoor rock climbing and he maintained an interest in muscle car restoration. Lately he enjoyed traveling and spending time with his sons and fiancé especially camping and mountain biking. They had many inspiring adventures. Friends and family exclaim how quickly he became good at his hobbies and this carried through his tenure on the police force, as he accepted different positions, most recently as a tactical flight deputy with the Pinellas County Sheriffs department. While he had a competitive drive his compassionate spirit shone throughout his life.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Ruby Marlene Askew; step-grandfather, OT Askew; paternal grandfather, Nelson Stiles; maternal grandmother, Edgal Hogsed Chilson and step-grandfather, Stephen Chilson; maternal grandfather, Garland Hogsed, Sr.; uncle, Garland Hogsed; and cousin Nathan Hogsed.

He is survived by his beloved fiancé, Ashley Hughes ; his two sons that he carried immense pride of, Oliver Troy Stiles and Creighton Maverick Stiles; mother, Anna Lee Hogsed Stiles; father, David Stiles; grandmother Betty Stiles and cousin Brad Cornwell as well as many other aunts uncles and cousins, all of whom thought the world of Shane and will miss him forever.

Shane's family believes he would have wanted any donation in his honor be made to the Foundation for the blind to support a disease carried by his mother and other members of his maternal family.

Funeral service are Friday Feb. 9 at 11:00 AM in the First Baptist Church of St. Petersburg, 1900 Gandy Blvd. St. Petersburg, FL 33702
