She and Jose spent almost 67 years married and built a beautiful life. At one point, they even had four of their nieces and nephews living with them, they owned three homes together; they faced and overcame many challenges together. They called each other, "mi vida" - my life.
From her children, "Our mom was such a special person. She was a social butterfly, an animal lover, a loyal friend, an amazing daughter, an exceptional wife , a loving grandmother and the best mom. She LOVED being a mom. It was her greatest pride.
She had an innocence about her and always saw the best in people. She was funny, warm, loving and gave the best hugs.
She was present when she was with you and made you feel seen.
When she was diagnosed with cancer, she was terrified, but she fought hard. She would say she was a coward; however, she was so valiant. She was afraid of so many things in life, but she did them anyway.
When our dad passed, she wanted to go with him but didn't want to leave us.
We were the loves of her life.
We are grateful for you are, because you always will be, grateful you are no longer trapped in a broken body and suffering, and grateful you are with Papi.
We miss your hugs, 'I love you's', your kisses, your advice; we miss you.
Continue to watch over us and visit us.
We love you, Mommy"
