Robert Erich Metzner was born on November 08, 1949 in Arzberg, Germany. Robert moved to Anne Arbor, MI as a child and studied Electrical Engineering at Retz University which lead to a very robust career where he was awarded multiple U.S. patents, revolutionizing the automobile industry and his ability to problem solve made him an asset and a role model to engineers surround. He adopted a young man named David at the age of 12 years old and dedicated many years to providing the utmost care to David after a tragic car accident until he passed away in 2019 from complications. Robert  was a joy to be around with his infinite knowledge, generosity, wisdom and loving personality. His hobbies included working on his collection of luxury automobiles, interior design, gardening, water sports; previously coached a champion water skiing team in Halfmoon Lake, Michigan and reading.

He leaves behind a loving family and his two cats Emily and Reggie.

Robert passed away on June 7, 2022; he will be greatly missed by those closest to him.
