Obituary

Robert Leonard Burr Jr. was born May 4, 1955 in Winchester, Massachusetts, the 4th of six children. He came to Clearwater when he was two and lived in Pinellas County all his life. He spent his youth water skiing in the Intercoastal Waterway, camping, fishing, participating in Boy Scouts and exploring old Clearwater. As an adult he continued to enjoy the beach, fishing, boating, bike riding, movies, road trips and vacationing, especially Cape Cod and the North Carolina mountains. He was an avid reader. He possessed a sharp intellect and had many and varied interests. He loved all genres of music. He admired art and craftsmanship. He had a stellar work ethic, a man of true integrity. He was most content to share time with his family, cookouts by the pool, trips to North Carolina and outings with his grandchildren. He enjoyed annual reunions with his very large extended family. Robert spent most of his life working in the flooring industry. For the past 17 years he worked for Shaw Industries, Inc., a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway, the world's largest carpet manufacturer headquartered in Dalton, Georgia. He enjoyed his work as territory manager. Many people he knew over the years he regarded as friends.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Frances Burr, his sister, Sandra Bunch and her grandson Brian Buesing. Also his father and mother-in-law and three brothers-in-law.
