Richard P. Celani 72 of St. Petersburg Florida died peacefully on January 31, 2026 at Abbey Nursing Home and Rehab Center.  Born in Providence, RI 1953 to Lillian F. (Turner) and Peter Celani, he is survived by Beloved wife of 43 years Karen E. (Pringle) Celani and son Peter R. Celani, granddaughter Anna Rose, daughter Kellie. A. Celani and husband Sean Smith.  He is preceded in death by daughter Jennifer Leigh in 1988.  An Army Veteran of 6 years, he worked at the USPS Turnkey in Providence for 22 years earning many awards for his ingenuity on improving machinery in the post office.  Due to the onset of early Parkinson's Disease Richard received 8 deep brain stimulators implanted in 1998.  He retired from the USPS in 1999 and in hopes for a better way of life, Richard and family relocated to Seminole, Florida in 2001.  In 2019 VA Doctors determined Richard required inpatient residence at a professional long term health care facility where he remained until his passing.

Full military honors will be held at Bay Pines National Cemetery and Celebration of Life in Spring 2026.
