Obituary

Providenzia (Prudy) Massaro, 85, died Monday, February 12, 2018. She was born in Tampa Florida.
Prudy was preceded in death by her husband, Sam John Massaro and beloved grandson, Joshua Ferqueron.
She is survived by three children: Sam (Terri), Jo (Andy), and Andoria (Bob); Five Grandchildren and Eight Great-Grandchildren.

Prudy's work here is done.  Her family wants her to know that she did a great job and we wish her a beautiful journey.  We will remember her constant smile, warmth and love for life, family and friends.

Prudy passed away February 12th at her beloved home on the beach after struggling with complications of dementia.  Although this disease robbed her of her memory, it never stole her spirit or sense of humor.

Born in Tampa, Florida, she was the oldest of five girls.  She met the love of her life, John, had a whirlwind romance and married.  Married for 60 years, they raised three children.  However, there were four who called her mom.  Sam, Jo, Andoria and Frank all agree that what our mother did best was to love everyone.  While raising a family, she was also a business woman and together, with her husband, ran their own beach rental property.

Prudy possessed a true servant's heart.  Her home was filled with love and an attitude that there was always room for one more.  She leaves her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren with the knowledge that she loved the Lord.  She will be missed but we know she is in great company with her loved ones who have cleared the path for her...her husband, her parents, sister, and beloved grandson, Josh.  They are the ones celebrating now to have her with them to embrace eternity.  For those of us that she left behind, she said "I have to go first, but I will always watch over you."  We believe she will.

We now reluctantly and sadly say good-by and Godspeed to a beautiful being.  Her sweet, simple demeanor, trusting heart and generous spirit will never be forgotten.  We invite you to join us to remember her life.

Friends and family will gather from 6:00 - 8:00 PM on Monday, Feb. 19 at the LW Mohn Funeral Home. A private Graveside Service will be held Tuesday Feb. 20th, 2018, at 11:00 AM at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Donations may be made in lieu of flowers in her memory to the Suncoast Hospice, 5771 Rosevelt Blvd. Clearwater, Florida 33760.
