Peggy A. (Beukema) Bokovoy Stonebanks passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on July 14, 2026 at the age of 88.  Born in St. Paul, MN., the daughter of a reverend, she moved many times in her early years. She was 18 when she got married and started her family in Michigan. She worked at the State Capitol for many years.  She loved to cook, volunteer where she could, travel all over, and share her life experiences with others.  She was on the airport authority board and ran for county Commissioner.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents Lula (Leutzinger) Beukema, and Calvin Beukema, two husbands, Sydney G. Bokovoy, and Peter E. Stonebanks, her brother Douglas Beukema, and her son in law David A. Wilke.

She is survived by her children Tim Bokovoy, Jim Bokovoy, Jo A. (Bokovoy) Wilke, and Gwen (Bokovoy) Wood, her Sister Karen (Beukema) Haire, five grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

There will be a family graveside service on Monday July 20th, 2026 and a celebration of life in Michigan in October.
