Obituary

Paul John Hudson, age 69 passed away on August 18, 2023 at Suncoast Hospice Care Center in Pinellas Park. Paul was born in White Plains, New York on September 4, 1953 where he spent most of his childhood. His travels eventually took him to Los Angeles, California where he met his future wife, Karen Coerper. Paul married Karen on Thanksgiving Day in 1982 in Stateline, Nevada. They left California in 1985 for Paul to pursue a consulting firm career in Tampa, Florida. Shortly after his career with the consulting firm Paul became an entrepreneur by creating his own company. Paul was the President/Owner of Welplex Stop Smoking Clinics utilizing his patented procedure for smoking cessation which developed into over 28 clinics all over the United States. He was very proud of how many patients successfully quit smoking.
In September, 1990 Karen and Paul welcomed their son, Alexander Hudson at Tampa General Hospital. He is their miracle child. Paul had a
passion for golf so once Alex was old enough to play Paul got a membership at Isla Del Sol. They played at least three times a week
during the summer months. Paul, Karen and Alex had many family vacations to New York to visit his mother and sisters. It became a tradition
for a while to spend Thanksgiving together at one of their homes in either in New York, Florida or North Carolina One very special vacation was a 7 day cruise to Alaska via Seattle and then onto Carmel, California so that Paul and Alex could play at Pebble Beach and Spyglass Hill. Paul was a devoted father and husband. He was full of surprises and had a great sense of humor, but most of all he was a dedicated family man. His family
and friends meant everything to him and he was always there when you needed him.
Paul is survived by his wife, Karen, his son, Alexander. He also is survived by his sisters, Lynne Alberts, Cheryl Carey, and Donna Finney along with his seven nieces, Kiersten Carey, Gretchen Carey, Brianna Carey, Tierney Carey, Melissa Hagen, Colleen Finney, and Jaimie Devita and his grand nieces, Emily Hagen, and Naia Carey and grand-nephews Jack and Riggs Devita, and Ethan Carey.

To all of his friends and family who prayed for Paul during his illness we extend our thanks and gratitude to you and your families.
The immediate family, Karen and Alexander hope to arrange a Celebration of Life at a future date.
