On August 8, 2018, Patricia Anne Adams, loving mother and grandmother, passed away at the age of 80.
Pat grew up in Maryland with six siblings, and served honorably in the Air Force as a pioneering woman
there in the 1950s. There she met her husband of 57 years, Nelson Adams, who predeceased her. They
lived in the Albany, NY area for most of her adult life, where she worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant
for the elderly and raised her only child, her daughter Diana Adams. Pat moved to Seminole in 2014 when she was widowed, where she delighted in her retirement with
her sister Carol Nelson. Pat was known for her great warmth and her radiant smile, and for never saying
an unkind word. Pat described being a mother as the great joy of her life. Along with her daughter
Diana, Pat is survived by family who adored her, including siblings Barbara Kragh, Daniel Griffith, Russell
Griffith, Janice Oesterle, and Carol Nelson; her son-in-law Dr. Edward Vessel; her three-year-old
granddaughter Noa; and companion John Jaxheimer. Pat is predeceased by her husband Nelson and
sister Gail Shifflett.
Pat was Lutheran and had deep Christian faith that brought her comfort as her life drew to a close from
lung cancer. Funeral services will be held at her church, Bay Pines Lutheran Church at 7589 113 th Ln N,
Seminole, on Saturday August 18 th at 11am followed by a lunch at the clubhouse of Seminole Hill Villas.
