Nancy L.
Gardner
May 27, 1931 — Oct 16, 2020
Seminole
Nancy L. Gardner , 89 years old, passed away on October 16, 2020 in her independent living residence at Freedom Square in Seminole, Florida surrounded by loved ones, both two-legged and four-legged.
Nancy was born in Wooster, Ohio, the only child of Lawrence and Edith Vickers and moved to Maryland's Washington, D.C. suburbs in her late teens where she met her soon-to-be husband, Dave Gardner. They married in 1950 and were soon raising their four children. After retirement in 1986, they moved to Largo, Florida for the next twenty years where she enjoyed their Bayou Club membership activities and her volunteer work helping whomever seemed to need something. After about ten years in West Virginia's Alpine Lake, she moved back to Florida taking up residence in the Washington Building at Freedom Square in 2016.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband Dave (2015) and her two oldest sons, Larry (2013) and Chuck (2019). She is survived by two of her children, Rick and Kathy, seven grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, and one great granddaughter.
She enjoyed life and gave thanks to God for all she received; her family, her friends, and her lifelong fur-babies (7 dogs and 2 cats). But, most especially for her 65 years of marriage to Dave.
Per her wishes, no formal services will be conducted. Close family will get together soon to share memories of her impact on their lives.
