POWERS, Michael F. age 72 passed away July 12, 2017.  He was born in New York, NY and moved to this area in December 1997 from Old Bridge, New Jersey.

He was a maintenance mechanic for a chemical factory in Edison, NJ for 25+ years.  He was Catholic.  He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion, Post 252.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Rose Powers, his sister Patricia and his brother John.

He is survived by his wife, Christina Powers, of Largo, Florida.  3 children, Marie Powers and her partner  James Noel Jr. of Gallitzin, PA; Patricia Powers Homeny and her husband Christopher Homeny of Old Bridge, NJ and Michael F. Powers Jr. and his fiance Rebecca Long of North Brunswick, NJ.

Other survivors include 5 grandchildren, Paul Demarest, Amanda Demarest Kling, Justine Demarest, Samantha Homeny, and Alissa Powers.

He is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren, Felicity Rose, Kiyah Rhae, Darryin Joseph, Rayden John-Michael, Alani Patrice, Rhianna Rain, Rilynn Grace, and Journie Marie, all living in Pennsylvania.

He is also survived by a sister-in-law, Carol Powers from South River, NJ; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Helen  and Alex Krasznai from North Brunswick, NJ; his mother-in-law, Muriel Savino, Seminole, FL and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Michael Savino and Mary Gardner of Seminole, FL and many other relatives and friends.

He enjoyed snow and water Skiing, camping with family, fishing, the beach and hanging with friends at the Niagara Tap.

A funeral Mass and burial of ashes will be done at a later date in New Jersey and a celebration of life will be held at the Niagara Tap, date to be announced.
