Mary T. Oliphant, 94, of Seminole, Fl. passed away on November 23, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio on Oct. 27, 1929, daughter of the late Anna and Anton Dushinka. Mary was preceded in death by her husband Frederick J. Oliphant in 1998, and son James F. Oliphant in 2021. She is survived by her children Catharine (Barry), Jane, Elizabeth, Peter (Susan), Michael, Melissa (Joseph), grandchildren Keith (Jennifer), Anthony (Julie), Emily, Jacob, Christopher, and great granddaughter Julianna, niece Maryanne (Glen), nephew Andrew (Patricia) and numerous nieces, nephews and their families.

Mary was an avid sewist. She made clothes for herself and her family. She developed a love of quilting and joined several quilting guilds. Mary was so pleased to receive a blue ribbon for one of her quilts. She belonged to the American Sewing Guild.

Mary was a devout Catholic and belonged to St. Jerome Catholic Church of Largo.

She gave great love to her family. She was a voracious reader, gardener, and enjoyed family camping trips. She learned later in life to ride a bicycle and to swim.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

The family appreciates the excellent care and compassion given to our mother by the devoted nurses, social workers, and staff of Suncoast Empath Hospice of Pinellas. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Hospice.
