Mary Jean
Mogle
d. Sep 28, 2026
Seminole
Mary Jean Mogle, age 82, passed away on September 28, 2026. She was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa and moved to Seminole in 1986 from Waterloo, Iowa. She was a beloved preschool teacher for almost thirty years before she retired.
Ever since she was a child, she loved Westerns, and she was also a voracious reader. In retirement, she became a dedicated volunteer at the Seminole Community Library. She also loved to do crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles. She had at least one glass of Coke over ice
every day; she always had chocolate nearby and ice cream in the freezer.
Her greatest joy in life was her two children, Hilary and Greg, and she was their biggest supporter. They are heartbroken that she is gone, but they will always be grateful that she was their mom and that they had as much time with her as they did.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Pauline Heesch; her sister Karen Allen; and her brother-in-law Gary Fell. She is survived by her children, Hilary and her husband Joe McKane, and Greg and his fiancée Ashley Chase. She is also survived by her sister Dianne Fell, brother Roger Heesch, several nieces and nephews who loved her, and many friends and neighbors who cared for her.
She was a member of Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Seminole, Florida for many years, and a memorial service celebrating her life will be held there on Saturday, October 10 at 10:00am. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Friends of the
Seminole Library.
