Mary Pauline Miller, age 93, met her loving Lord & Savior on Sunday, March 10, 2019. at Atria Countryside in Clearwater.

She was born June 10, 1925 in Lincoln, IL, to parents, the late Eric and Lillie Barthel. Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Al, and her older brother, Eric.

A graduate of Pekin High School, Mary attended the University of Illinois where she met Al; they graduated in 1947. After raising their family in suburban Glen Ellyn, she and Al moved back to Champaign. They loved their "Fighting Illini", and spent 20 years enjoying their college town in later years. Following Al's retirement, they moved to Bradenton in 1991, and eventually to Pinellas County in 2011. They traveled the world, visiting every continent.

Mary was a lifelong Lutheran and member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Largo. She was a member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood, most recently Chapter FO, Clearwater. She loved the Lord with all her heart, and her greatest joy through the years was serving others through various volunteer efforts.

She is survived by her sister Barbara Schrader, Sycamore, IL, and brother Jack (Paula), Uxbridge, MA. Also two daughters & two sons: Marsha Hahn (Dale), Palm Harbor, FL, Stephen Miller, Menlo Park, CA, Michael Miller (Debbie), Bellingham, WA, and Janet Nuessen (Jim), Quincy, IL. A cherished relationship which began in 1969 also continues with "Australian exchange son" Greg Sansom & his relatives. Mary dearly adored her extended family which also includes 13 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. She will always be remembered for her kindness, sweet disposition, and gentle spirit.
