Obituary

Martha Ann Kazmierski, age 80 passed away peacefully September 7, 2021, in the loving arms of her husband of 59 years, Bernie, surrounded by their daughters, Marcia and Joanne and son, Eric. Martha was born in Dickson City, Pa to Frank and Valeria Olevnik.  She was one of five siblings.   She raised her family in Montdale, Scott Township, Pa and moved to Seminole, Fl in 1984.

Family was Martha's proudest accomplishment. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and served as the matriarch for her family members who were rooted in Pennsylvania and now have touchpoints around the United States. She also had strong ties to her Polish heritage passing down many traditions around religious holidays such as Wigilia, Christmas Eve dinner, where she taught every grandchild the dinner traditions and how to say "Merry Christmas and Happy New Year" in Polish.

Martha attended St Mary's Visitation Grade School and graduated from Dickson City High School. Martha was a faithful Catholic her whole life.  Her church affiliations included the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, Dickson City, Pa; St. John Vianney Catholic Church, Montdale, Scott Township, Pa.; and then finally becoming a parishioner at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Seminole, Fl for over 35 years. She also designed and assembled the Church bulletin and supported the church staff at St. Justin Martyr's in Largo, Fl. Martha was a big fan of Pope John Paul II. Since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic and her enduring lung cancer, Martha and Bernie stayed at home for health safety and received Holy Communion every Sunday. Martha was faithful to the end, praying her rosary and watching mass daily.

Martha was also an early adopter of technology and built a community on Facebook and Pogo, an online game site, although her true joy was a good play day at the Seminole Hard Rock Casino, Tampa. Martha loved to adventure and travel the world with her husband, Bernie. They went on two beautiful trips to Europe and sailed on 31 cruises, visiting Hawaii, Alaska, Mexico and just about every island in the Caribbean. She loved nature and wildlife and enjoyed watching the flowers bloom in her yard and surrounding her beautiful pool patio deck. Tasha, their beloved dog child, has been by Martha and Bernie's side loving them for over 14 years.

For years, Martha built a wonderful community in Seminole by going to breakfast every morning with Bernie, getting her hair done on Saturdays and visiting the beach. Everyone knew Martha and Bernie. Martha's spirit will live on through the memories and stories passed on to her loved ones.

Martha is preceded in death by her son, Bernard Anthony, Jr.; her brothers, Francis-Frank (Margaret-Peg), John, and Marcel-Marty (Jean), Boleslaw-Bill (Ethel) Olevnik and Sister Florence (Joe) Sysak; her brothers and sisters-in-laws, Marie (Joe) Chibirka, Frank Lehnert, and Judy Kazmierski.
