Marietta Knott Stanford
November 9, 1928 - August 17, 2016

Marietta Knott Stanford age 87, went to be with the Lord, Aug. 17th, 2016. She was born in Louisville, KY on November 9, 1928; however, called Columbus, GA her home. Marietta enjoyed traveling and meeting new people. While her husband, Edward Stanford, served in the U.S. Army, Germany, Turkey, N. Carolina, California, Alabama and Florida were only some of the places they made their home.

She had an infectious laugh and a beautiful voice. Marietta loved children and was a pre-school teacher at Wynnton United Methodist Church for many years. She had three children, Ritchie, Deborah, and Mike. Six grandchildren, Peyton, Zachary, Stephen, Patrick, Michael and Summer. And seven great grandchildren. Her faith in God and her prayers brought all of us through some difficult times. She will live on forever in the hearts of her family and friends.

A reception celebrating Marietta's life will be held from 12:00-2:00 at Hawthorn Suites (3662 Victory Drive) in Columbus, GA, following a graveside service at the Ft. Beginning Cemetery at 11:00am on Wednesday, August 31st.
