Margaret Louise Steward a long time resident of Largo passed away peacefully on May 11, 2026, in Clearwater, Florida, at the age of 83.  Born in Summit, New Jersey, Margaret lived a life rooted in faith, kindness, and service to others. She was the devoted wife of Dennis Steward, with whom she built a loving family and home filled with laughter, warmth, and faith.

Margaret is survived by her son, Robert Steward; her brother, Bob Hay; her sisters-in-law, Lynda Hay and Jill Steward; and many nieces and nephews who cherished her wisdom, humor, and gentle spirit.

A graduate of Maryville College in Tennessee, Margaret earned her degree in Education and went on to dedicate her life to teaching and community service. An active member of Lake Seminole Presbyterian Church, she generously gave her time to helping others. She learned sign language so she could communicate with her son, Robert. She used this gift throughout her life to connect with and support members of the deaf community.

Margaret also had a deep love of reading and writing. An accomplished author, she published several children's books that reflected her imagination and compassion. She found joy in painting and sharing her creativity with those around her.

Margaret's memory will be a lasting blessing to all who knew her. Memorial service details will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to her church in Margaret's honor.
