Obituary

Margaret Hosmer recently passed away in Largo, Florida. She was born in 1928, daughter of Henry and Ruth Dana Noble, and grew up in Edwards, N.Y. on the family farm. Margaret entered SUC at Potsdam after graduating valedictorian of her high school class in 1946. Upon graduation from Potsdam, she married Gordon Hosmer, from Harrisville N.Y., that summer of 1950, as they both began careers in education.

After teaching for one year, Margaret became a full-time mother of three children.  She was an avid reader, and pursued a personal education of Bible scripture, which she translated into many adult Bible seminars. She never tired of sitting down at a piano, as she loved music. Throughout her life, she earned a well-deserved reputation as being a fabulous cook and baker. She served her church, Pitcher Hill Community, as a Board of Trustees member, and special lecturer, and a regular volunteer. Margaret loved playing cards, as shown by her close relationship with many dear friends in North Syracuse in their bridge group for 60 years. She jokingly would say she would "never turn down an invitation to go to lunch," as always enjoyed the company of others. She recently relocated to enjoy the sunshine of Florida and begin a new phase of life experiences.

Her survivors include daughters Robin (Bill) Biloski of Madeira Beach, Florida; Becky Fladd of North Syracuse; brother Frank (Carol) Noble of Lake Wales Florida; six grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and several nieces. In addition to her parents she was predeceased in death by her husband Gordon of 67 years, son Ralph N. Hosmer, sister, Harriet Benoit, and son in law Joseph Fladd.

Funeral services will be held in North Syracuse at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Pitcher Hill Community Church in North Syracuse.
