Margaret LaVerne Flournoy went home to be with the Lord and to be reunited with her husband Marshall on Monday March 19, 2018. She was born in Live Oak, Florida and had moved to this area by the age of 6. Besides being a pastor's wife and homemaker, LaVerne served with her husband Marshall as Southern Baptist missionaries to Brazil for 26 years, from 1963 to 1988. She and Marshall were married for 67 years before his death in November of 2017. They were both members of Seminole First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall, her daughter Carolyn White, and her grandson Joshua. Margaret is survived by her children; Phil Flournoy, Marilyn Mott, and Lorena Gaskill; six grandkids; ten great-grandkids; and brothers, Malcolm "Junior" Kirkland and George Levis Kirkland.
A memorial service will be held at the Seminole First Baptist Church at 3:00 PM, March 24, 2018.
