Obituary

Lori Ann Melvin
Born October 20, 1967, in Waterbury, Connecticut, Lori Ann Melvin, 58, passed away suddenly on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at her residence.

Lori's unexpected passing has come as a shock to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Michael, and her grandmother, Ada. Lori is survived by her loving family in Florida and Illinois: her mother, Eleanor Watkins; her son, Charles Melvin III (Keri); her daughters, Jennifer Mullinax and Brittney Melvin; and her 11 grandchildren whom she adored—Kingsley Heinemann, Charlie Melvin IV, Knox Bland, Hailie Melvin, Kruz Bland, Cameron Melvin, Karolina Melvin, Kansas Melvin, Laynie Fore, Payslie Fore, and Lettie Fore.

She is also survived by her sister, Debbie Hopkins (Steve); her brother, Bill Parker (Jinette); and her nephew, David Gay (Brian).

Lori was grateful to have spent time with her Illinois family last year, creating cherished memories that will be held close forever.

A proud 10-year breast cancer survivor, Lori faced life's challenges with strength and determination. Despite ongoing health issues, she never allowed them to define her or limit how fully she lived her life.

Lori attended Lake Seminole Presbyterian Church.

She worked in sales for most of her life and had a natural gift for connecting with people—she truly never met a stranger. She was outgoing, loved cooking, and spoke her mind. Even after a disagreement, she had a way of moving forward with warmth, as if no time had passed.

Lori will be remembered for her resilience, her vibrant personality, and the love she had for her family.

She is now at peace in the presence of the Lord.
