Lenetta Sue
Dekoker
Aug 3, 1947 — Apr 4, 2026
Largo
Lenetta "Sue" DeKoker, 78, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 4, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family and prayers of her many friends.
Born in Indianapolis, Indiana, Sue was raised in Terre Haute, where she spent her early years before attending Indiana State University. It was there that she met the love of her life, Dave DeKoker, beginning a lifelong partnership rooted in devotion, adventure, and deep companionship.
As a proud military wife, Sue traveled alongside Dave during his service in the United States Air Force, building a home and raising their family wherever they were stationed. After their travels, they returned to Indiana before eventually settling in Largo, Florida—a place Sue truly cherished and embraced as home.
Sue dedicated her professional life to helping others create beautiful and welcoming spaces. Her career spanned interior design, furniture sales, and, most recently, real estate staging, where her eye for detail and warmth of spirit left a lasting impression on clients and colleagues alike.
She will be remembered for her genuine love of Florida living, her unwavering devotion to her family, and her generous and kindhearted nature. Sue had a gift for making others feel at ease and welcomed, and her presence brought comfort and joy to all who knew her.
A devout Christian, Sue was a faithful member of Faith Community Church of Seminole, where her faith and fellowship were central to her life.
Sue is survived by her beloved husband, David DeKoker; her daughters, Deena DeKoker and Dawn McCants; her nephew, Jeffrey DeKoker and family; her daughter-in-law, Melissa Hoskins; her son-in-law, Cliff "Mac" McCants; her beloved grandchildren, Asiah, Allie, Alyziah, Caz, Coleton, and Caleb; and her cherished dog, Sadie.
Sue's legacy of love, faith, and kindness will live on in the hearts of her family and all who were blessed to know her.
