Obituary

Lee Miller Hassinger, age 93, passed away at the stroke of midnight on September 11, 2018. Raised in Larchmont, NY, Lee attended Mount Herman prep school before enlisting in the Army during WWII. Serving as a Medic, he spent three years on the battlefront including D-Day and other campaigns. After the war, Lee completed his college degree at Miami University where he met the love of his life, Charlene Hassinger, his wife of 68 years. Most of his career was spent as a regional sales manager. He also had interests in Boy Scouts, tennis, travel, gardening and spoiling a variety of pets. Lee was a kind and out-going man, easily befriending strangers from all backgrounds and stations in life. If you met Lee for ten minutes, you felt as though you had a friend for life.

He is survived by his wife, Charlene; his two sons, Jim Hassinger and his wife Chris and Jon Hassinger and his wife Kim; grandsons, Ben, his wife Taylor and daughter Virginia; Evan and his wife Kari, and Peter. Lee's sister, Caroline Williamson, also survives him.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made in his memory be made to Suncoast Empath Hospice.

A private celebration of his life will be held in the future.
