John Francis
Grady
May 14, 1926 — Jan 31, 2022
Largo
John Francis Grady, 95 years young, went to heaven on January 31, 2022. He was an amazing, kind-hearted, funny and incredibly caring man who was loved by all that knew him. Our world is definitely a better place because of John and he inspired the best in all of us. We are heartbroken and will miss him so very much but are comforted that he is no longer in pain and that he is finally with his heavenly Father and Savior.
It is impossible to adequately describe John. He was truly one of a kind as all will attest that knew him. He was a great blessing to his family and friends and we all have wonderful stories and memories to share and will keep him in our hearts forever!
All that had the honor of knowing him will remember his unwavering faith in God and Jesus, his huge heart and how he helped others whenever he could. But as we hear from many of his relatives and friends what comes to mind first is his wonderful gift to make them laugh! His quick wit and presentation entertained us and made us feel happier – especially if times were difficult . He always had a perfect story or joke ready at just the right time that would make us laugh even when we didn't want to!
John was born on May 14, 1926 in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. He was the oldest of six children born to Teresa and John Patrick Grady. He loved his brothers and sisters – Billy, Buddy, Jean, Lawrence, and Nancy and constantly entertained them! He feel in love and married Mary Elizabeth Yoder and they had three children: Kathleen, Patti and Linda. His family was everything to him and there was nothing he would not do for them. He worked hard all his life and sacrificed a great deal to make them happy, always considering others first and himself last. John was the best father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend that anyone could ever have. He was a World War II Veteran, serving in the Navy, and his love for the flag and his country were unmatched.
John is survived by his daughter Kathleen (her husband, Joe, and their daughter Kristen) and his daughter Patti (her husband, Stew, and son Matthew (his wife Kristi and daughter Madison) and their daughter, Kelli, (her husband, Ryan). He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Elizabeth and daughter Linda Mary as well as many others that were very dear to him.
A Mass Memorial Service and celebration of his life is being planned at the end of February or beginning or March. Please let Kathleen know if you are interested in attending at 770-630-7706. Thank you and God Bless!
