Jeanette M. Bollerman
Her life's long journey concluded, Jeanette was called home on September 9, 2016.
Jeanette was welcomed into this life on May 25, 1917, by her parents, Emma and August Ebert, and siblings, Robert and Dorothy,
Jeanette entered prematurely, weighing 2 1/2 pounds. Loving care and Providence nurtured her survival.
Shortly after her birth in East Orange, New Jersey, the family relocated to Middle Village, Long Island, New York, where she was raised and schooled.
During a family outing to the Catskill Mountains, she met her future husband, Wilfred Bollerman. They were married on October 1, 1937.
Jeanette and Wilfred lived in North Bergen, New Jersey, before moving to Guttenberg, New Jersey.
During World War II, Jeanette contributed to the war effort in producing specialized wiring for military uses. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post #3527, and served as its President. She was very active in the Post's community service activities.
In 1970, Jeanette and Wilfred retired to Largo, Florida, where they became devoted members of Christ the King Lutheran Church. Jeanette served in the Ladies Guild and Wilfred served as an usher and elder.
After Wilfred's untimely death in 1979, Jeanette moved a short distance to Seminole Gardens, an apartment complex in Seminole, Florida, where she enjoyed many close friendships while continuing her close and active association with Christ the King Lutheran Church in Largo.
A hip fracture in 2014 led to her decision to relocate to an independent-living apartment in Freedom Square, a nearby retirement community.
At Freedom Square Jeanette celebrated her 97th, 98th, and 99th birthdays.
In addition to her beloved husband and parents, Jeanette was predeceased by her brother, Robert Ebert, and her sisters, Dorothy Kotz and Ruth and Grace Ebert (twins who died in infancy).
Jeanette is survived by three generations of nieces and nephews, totaling over 80 in number, who celebrate her life while mourning her passing.
Jeanette will be remembered most for her affable and engaging manner that invited friendship, and for her propensity to assume the best in others. This mindset motivated her life-long desire to help and serve. She had an abiding love for her family, her husband, and for her Creator.
Jeanette's favorite Scripture reading is from John 11:25: "Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live." Her favorite hymn is "How Great Thou Art."
A memorial service will be held at Mohn Funeral Home, 9700 Seminole Boulevard, Seminole, Florida. The service will be followed by interment at Serenity Gardens in Largo, Florida.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
