Jay David Morey, age 75 passed away on May 8, 2025 after a long battle with pneumonia as a result of his COPD.
He was born in Glens Falls NY and moved to Seminole Fl. in 1982 from South Glens Falls NY.
Jay was a police officer in upstate NY for 11 years and retired from the Pinellas County Sheriffs department after 23 yrs in 2005.
He was a member of Florida Sheriffs Association, The Faternal Order of Police, The Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches and supported many local charities.
He enjoyed golf, playing pool and shooting darts. Jay was an avid sports fan. He loved the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He also had many friends at the local Tavern (that he owned for about 10 years). Jay was preceded in death by Joyce Bentley (mother), Benjamin Morey (father) and brothers
Thomas Morey and Jerry Bentley.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Nancy Morey, sons Christopher Morey and Raymond Morey. Brothers Roger Morey, Jack Morey and Jeff Morey. Sisters Karen Bentley, Christine Morey Clifton and Ruth Richards. Daughter in law Tracy Morey. Grandchildren Christopher
Morey II, Parker Morey, David Morey and Kalyn Henrickson. Great grandchildren Christopher Morey III, Alice Morey, Lathan Lopez and Lennox Lopez. As well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He will be greatly missed by all including his beloved dogs Zoey and Zelda.
