Gloria Mezera,  November 20, 1936 – October 2, 2024

On October 2, 2024, Gloria Mezera passed away. A loving Mother of 6, Grandmother of 17, Great Grandmother of 28, and Great-Great Grandmother of 4. She was born November 20, 1936, daughter to Vernon and Alma Holpuch, in Cicero, IL.

Preceded in death by her husband, George W. F. Mezera, her parents, and her brother Vernon Holpuch Jr.  Gloria moved to this area in Florida in 2002, from Riverside, IL after she retired from the Brookfield Zoo as the Administration Assistant for the Director of the Zoo.

Gloria was a member of Calvery Chapel, St. Petersburg and a long-time office volunteer for Habitat For Humanity in Pinellas Park. On leaving Habitat For Humanity, they created the George "Mezera Park" in her honor.

She loved her family with all her heart and also the many, many friends that touched her full and blessed life. Gloria will be missed but will finally be united with her beloved husband George.

Services are pending, Gloria will be buried in Stickney, IL at a later date.
