Elfrieda Langman Mentz, "Elly-FiFi" age 94, loving mother, grandmother, entered into eternal peace on August 13, 2022. She was born in Islip Terrace, Long Island, New York, on December 10, 1927 to Vincent and Josephine (Werth) Langman. She is predeceased by her parents and brothers, Frank, Vincent and Kirt Langman.  She is survived by her son, Randall (Virginia) Amott; daughter, J. Lauren (Vincent) San Filippo. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, and many nieces and nephews.

Her 38 years as an Occupational Therapist instructor at Central Islip Psychiatric Center, NY, served her well. She had a talent to look at somthing and say, "I can make that!" Her talents were many, and she will always be remembered for her beautiful artwork and creative ideas, Whether it was painting pictures in oil, watercolors, on glass, pastels or charcoal, etc. Her crafts were varied from knitting, crocheting, sewing clothes, quilting, ceramics, scrapbooking, quilling, calligraphy, basket weaving, caning and rushing  chairs, painting murals on furniture, gardening, etc. She loved writing poetry and playing the piano, from playing classical music to 60's & 70's music. Always the athletic one, she learned to ski in her 40's and she loved ice skating into her 80's. She moved to Seminole, FL in 2001 and continued her favorite hobbies.

Graveside services will be held at the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Coram, NY at a later date.
