Obituary

Doris Druse , 102 years young , residing in Saint Petersburg, Florida, passed away on September 9, 2022 peacefully with family by her side.
Doris, born on August 13, 1920, grew up in Lima, Ohio and moved to St. Pete in 1959. She worked at City Loan Bank in Lima and until her final days kept sharp tabs on her bank account. She belonged to the Methodist Church in Seminole, Florida.
At the age of 21, she married George Druse (deceased 1991), owner, in partnership with their dear friend Charles Mahoney, of R & L Tire, Inc. They went on to have 2 handsome and successful sons, Marty Druse and Michael Druse (deceased 2014) and daughter-in-law, Paula Druse (deceased 2018).
Doris, lived a full life, often enjoying golf, traveling and in her younger years….Canadian Mist.
She is survived by her beloved son, Marty Druse (Ocala,FL). Her grandchildren Donna Townsend, Jenny MacDonald, Cheryl Watson, Kelley Druse-Dodson, Nicole Druse-Duke and her great grandchildren Cassidy, Kameron, Findlay, Haley, Sophia, Ronan, Fiona, Ryder and Canin.
Doris was blessed to have amazing neighbors for 30 years that became like family. Paul and Becky Smith and their daughter, Jennifer came to visit daily, brought goodies and showered her with love and attention. She was forever grateful.
She was blessed to have two girls she considered her very own, Kay Bechtol (Naples, FL) and Vicki Hoover (Lima,OH). Doris, their childhood neighbor, played a huge part in their life. The three would share stories and laughs over the "good ole days" and reminisce about kin.
Her best friend was her dog "Cindy", a precious poodle, who was well known in her independent living facility, Barrington Senior Living. She lived for Miss Cindy and continued to take her for walks until just a short time ago. Cindy gave her purpose, and together they made friends. She was forever grateful for her friends, including Judy Nelson and George Rausch, and the staff at Barrington.
