Donald D. Rinker, 95, of Hernando, FL passed away Wed. May 24, 2023. He was born in Hillsgrove, PA on Dec. 30, 1927, the son of the late Francis O. and Marie (Brey) Rinker and one of nine siblings.

He lived a Christian life of service to others and was beloved by all who met him for his positive outlook on life.

He served in the Army for 2 years with occupation forces post WWII in Germany. He married Helen in 1951 and raised a son and daughter in Hillsgrove, PA. He was  a service manager for a Chevrolet dealership in Montoursville, PA for 15 years. Then employed by PA  D.O.T. as a highway supervisor and eventually county manager. He retired from that job in 1989 and moved to Seminole, FL to be near his son and daughter.

He was a devout member of the Methodist Church in each place of residence. The last being Hernando UMC where he moved after the passing of his wife. He loved history and belonged to Historical Societies in PA and Fl. He loved gardening, wood work, camping, Ray's baseball and all football. He was also involved in all church activities, dinners,  thrift shop, services, and he and his wife delivered Meals on Wheels.

Donald was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 66 years, Helen (Drebert) Rinker; and son Robert. He is survived by his loving daughter, Susan (Robert) Harrington of LeCanto, FL. He also leaves behind brothers, Maynard and Kenneth (Amy); and many nieces and nephews.

Private cremation arrangements are under the direction of LW Mohn Funeral Home, Seminole, FL.

A celebration of a life well lived will be held at Grand Living at Citrus Hills, 850 W. Norvill Bryant HWY, Hernando, FL on Tues, June 27, at 2:00 PM.
