Donald "DJ" Dunn, died on May 28th, 2021, at the spry age of 90 after a brief illness in Lakewood Ranch, FL. He was born June 7th, 1930, in Fall River, MA, the son of Frederick and Cecelia Dunn. He moved to Florida in 1994 from Wallkill, NY, where he raised his family.

DJ retired as a Captain with NYS Corrections and proudly served in the US Navy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Frances J Dunn, wife Frances C Dunn, granddaughter Stephanie Dunn, and his beloved dog, Bubbles.

He leaves behind his children -- John P. Dunn (Lori Nelson) of Tampa, Michael J Dunn of Tampa, Patrick J Dunn of Lutz, Doreen A Dunn (Roberta Druif) of Sarasota, and James R Dunn (Rose Pardington) of New Paltz, NY. Sisters -- Sarah Paquette of Sacramento, CA, and Joan Heinsohn of Austin, TX. Grandchildren -- Kathleen Escobio (Anthony) of Tampa, and Taylor Dunn (Kinna) of Fairbanks, Alaska, great grandchildren -- AJ and Ava of Tampa, Brayden and Johnny of Fairbanks, along with many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his companion Joan Hill of Lakewood Ranch, who never left his side when he needed her most, and close friends Charlie Hughes (Dot) and Phil Fazio (Michelle) of New York.

DJ was a huge sports fan with the Tampa Bay Lightning ranking on top followed by the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox. He was also a huge fan of Tom Brady which made him begrudgingly follow the Tampa Bay Bucs. DJ had a great sense of humor and loved everyone who could dish it back to him.
