Stahley, Claire Louise-
With her devoted family at her side, Claire Stahley passed away peacefully on September 5,2022. Claire filled countless roles as a Child of God, devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Claire was born on January 19, 1926 in Hackensack, NJ, to Fred and Pearl Merrick.
She is survived by her loving husband of 74 years, John V. Stahley, daughter JoAnn and husband Julio, son Jack and wife Gail, daughter Carol and husband Dave, daughter Nancy and husband Phillip. Claire loved her grandchildren, Tracy, Amy, Wendy, Geoffrey, Lindsay, Anthony, Juliann (deceased) Amber, Amanda and great-grandchildren Kyle, Merrick, Keara, Veronica, Moira, Gavin and Colin. Claire is also survived by her loving sister Sandra Sirotnak, of Phoenix, AZ. Claire gave unconditional love and support to all of her family.
She was a US Cadet Nurse and graduated as a RN from the Easton School of Nursing in 1947. It was in Easton PA, where Claire raised her family, help run the family business, Stahley TV, Appliance and Furniture, and worked as a nurse. During those years, John and Claire traveled the world visiting many countries. In 1970 the family moved to sunny St. Petersburg, Florida, where Claire continued to raise her family. She loved to play golf, go to the beach, attend bible study, volunteer as a school nurse, and helped in ministries at Church. Being an avid reader, Claire visited the public library weekly. During her retirement, Claire took up the paint brush and became an artist. Her paintings of landscapes captured her love of color and nature.
Her family will miss her beautiful smile and kind compassionate spirit but rest in the certainty that she knew her Lord and Savior and is in her eternal
home with Jesus.
