Carol Duffy Bumiller, age 85, passed away on Sunday, August 10, 2025 peacefully in her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Brooklyn, New York and moved to Florida in 1950. She grew up on the beaches and attended local schools. After graduating from St. Petersburg College and USF, she worked as a nurse at All Childrens, Bay Pines VA and 28 years at Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater. Carol
held many offices with the Gulf Beach Junior Women's Club for years and volunteered for Cancer, Heart, and MD drives. She was a member of the Children's Home society and very active for years with PARC. Carol was on the PTA Board and served several years as Chairman at Blessed Sacrament Catholic School. She ran the school carnival for several years. She was active in numerous County and State political campaigns.
Most recently, she was a member of the Mid County Council of the Juvenile Welfare Board, the Boley Angels, the Bellair Women's Republican Club and taught RCIA at Blessed Sacrament. She held membership in the Ivory Club, a division of the Pinellas Republican Executive Committee and is a Board member of the Suncoast Tiger Bay Board and the Development board of LiFT, a school for autism students in Seminole.
Carol is survived by her four children, James, Robert, Constance and Diane, four grandchildren and one great grandson.
Services will be held on August 30 th at 10:00 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Seminole. Following the mass, the celebration of life will continue at Bardmoor Country Club, 8001 Cumberland Road in Seminole.
