Eleanor MacDonald of Seminole, FL. passed away on Nov. 3, 2021 at the age of 92 at Tampa General Hospital. She was born in Chicago, Ill. to Herbert P. and Bernice E. Jorgensen MacDonald. The family moved to the Pittsburg, PA area then on to Millburn, N.J. then back to Pittsburg. She received a B.A. in Library Science  and English from Douglas College (now Rutgers University). She served as the children's librarian in the Mt. Lebanon Public Library near Pittsburg. Eleanor  then went to Hawaii as the head Liberian of the children's library in Honolulu.  She felt she needed something more and returned to Pittsburg and received a Masters degree in elementary education from the University of Pittsburg. She also took additional hours in Special education and Elementary Education. Eleanor was a Special Education teacher in Alleghany County schools in PA. for a number of years before moving to California in 1966, where she taught special needs children until her retirement in 1999.

While in California, Eleanor took an interest in two breeds of dogs. Japanese Chins and Papillion's. She raised and showed these breeds for many years and was a member of these clubs, often serving as President and other offices.

She moved to Seminole, where she enjoyed serving, especially for Suncoast Hospice.

Eleanor is survived by her sister, Judy Elias of Seminole and several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Another sister, Nancy Elizabeth Walzer of Loves Burrell, PA. , preceded her in death on Aug. 9, 2021.

Visitation and services will be on Nov. 9, 2021 beginning at 10:00 A.M. at Lewis Mohn Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Serenity Gardens in Largo.
