Obituary

Barbara Jean Wise Perkins (89) died on 31 Jan 2017 in Trenton, FL at Tri-County Nursing Center. Barbara is the widow of James Troy Perkins, who were 47 year residents of the Seminole, FL area. James predeceased Barbara on 29 Sep 2003. Barbara moved to Bronson, Florida, a few years following and in latter years was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease which took her life..
Barbara was born in Arcus, Alabama to Eugene Hillard Wise and Florrie Bell Maddox Wise. Her formal education ended at eighth grade but she continued to educate herself over the years, devouring the daily paper and news magazines. Maintaining her home and caring for her family was number one; however, she opened their home to anyone in need over the years. She saw to it that anyone who came in was taken time with and never left her table hungry. Her children fulfilled her dreams of each graduation from high school and doing well in their chosen occupations. Her other was to see some of the United States which made history mean more to her. Her children called her the family historian, for she was a deep well of information not only our history but the extended families as well.
Barbara and James were predeceased in 1959 when their ten year old son William was accidentally killed and one-day old grandson Mathew (Mark & Mary) died on 26 August 1982. Their fifty year old son Craig (retired FHP) died on 16 September 2003 just 13 days prior to James' death.
Barbara is survived by four of her children: Regina Gardner (Gary), Hiram Perkins (Linda), Mark Perkins (Mary), and Carl Perkins (Janet). Grandchildren: Cynthia Luitjens (Louie), Paul Gardner, Amanda Horton (David),Marcy Perkins and Michael Perkins (Laura). Great-grandchildren: Raymond (Samantha) Gardner, Rachel Morgan, Bethany Morgan, Amber Boaz (TJ), Bryan Gardner and Annabelle Horton. Great-great Grandchildren: Ian Wilson, Marianna Gardner, Gabriella Gardner and Amelia Ruby.
