Anthony Jerry
Mesi
Nov 21, 1938 — Jun 16, 2026
Seminole
Anthony "Tony" Mesi, lovingly known as "Buddy" to his childhood friends, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2026, in Seminole, Florida, after living with Alzheimer's disease. He was 87 years old. Although Alzheimer's gradually took many of his memories, it never took away his love for family and friends, he always knew the people who mattered most. And true to Tony, his quick wit and sense of humor had a way of shining through, often bringing smiles and laughter, even in the most difficult moments.
Tony was born on November 21, 1938, in Columbus, Ohio, to Joseph and Josephine (Prince) Mesi. He was raised in Grandview Heights, where he proudly graduated with the Class of 1957. His love for his alma mater remained strong throughout his life, and he served as a class reunion leader for many years, helping classmates stay connected. He later earned his degree in accounting from Ohio University.
Tony began his professional career with John Deere before going on to build a successful career in accounting and commercial real estate. He later founded his own business appraisal company, Westwood Systems, where his entrepreneurial spirit, professionalism, and integrity were reflected in the work he loved.
In 1963, Tony proudly enlisted in the Air National Guard, serving his country, including a deployment to Korea.
Tony enjoyed watching sports, playing cards, solving crossword puzzles and brain teasers, and listening to and enthusiastically singing along with Frank Sinatra. He was funny, quick-witted, and always had a way of making people laugh. He treasured time with family and friends, but most especially with his daughters and grandchildren, who were the greatest joy of his life.
Tony was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Mesi and Josephine (Prince) Mesi.
He is survived by his beloved daughters, Lori Mesi (Matt Chrispin) and Sara Neal (Craig); his cherished grandchildren, Eloise, Owen, and Molly Neal, and Will and Clara Chrispin; his brother, Johnny Mesi; his faithful dog, Vinnie, who rarely left his side and remained by his side until the very end; his nephew and nieces; his lifelong friend, Jimmy Bobbitt; his special extended family, Brian, Melissa, Christian, Michael, and Maria Sena; his dear friend, Gary Adcock; and the many wonderful friends he made at Freedom Square in Seminole, Florida, whose friendship meant so much to him.
Tony will be remembered for his kindness, sharp sense of humor, loyalty, and unwavering love for his family and friends. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the laughter he shared, and the family he loved so deeply. He will be profoundly missed and forever remembered.
A private celebration of Tony's life will be held at a later date.
