Obituary

Our beautiful mother, Albarosa Fotopoulos, passed away on December 18, 2025, at the enlightened age of 88 in Madeira Beach, Florida. She was born in Puerto Cortés, Honduras, where she proudly began her life's work as an educator—instilling knowledge, discipline, and curiosity in others long before she would do the same for her own family.

In her early 20s, she moved to New York City and worked for Air France, a chapter that opened the world to her quite literally. Travel, culture, and intellectual exploration became central to her life. A gifted linguist, she embraced languages with passion, becoming fluent in French and Italian in addition to her native Spanish and English.

A devoted student of the world, Albarosa pursued learning wherever it could be found—studying at The Sorbonne in France, Oxford in England, Catholic University in France  and Fairleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey, , where she earned a Bachelor's degree in languages. Education was not simply something she did; it was who she was.

During this time, she married and devoted herself wholeheartedly to raising her three children, whom she raised in Cresskill, New Jersey, instilling in them a love of learning, discipline, and an appreciation for culture and the wider world.

She found great joy on the tennis court, where her love of movement, discipline, and friendly competition came together. Tennis was more than a pastime for her—it was an expression of her vitality, elegance, and lifelong commitment to staying active and engaged.

She was a force of nature in life and in her garden.  She had an extraordinary connection to plants, flowers and her treasured fruit trees.  She was especially proud of her mango trees cultivated with care and strength, which she shared with everyone around her.  She infused every experience with intensity, motivation and unmistakable class—and expected nothing less from those around her. She loved fiercely and lived boldly, always ready for the next journey, whether intellectual or geographic.

Albarosa lived her life grounded in faith, family, and an enduring respect for learning. As a devoted mother and grandmother, she carried herself with dignity, strength, and grace. We entrust her soul to our merciful God, praying that her memory be eternal and that she may rest in peace among the spiritual.

She is survived by her beloved children Alexander, Constantine and Helena, her son-in-law Dennis; and her treasured grandchildren Nina, Chloe, Petra, and Roman.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Albarosa's memory to Global Communities, a nonprofit organization where her nephew Mario Cooper serves as a physician dedicated to improving health and opportunity in underserved communities around the world.

Memory Eternal

Obituario
